INNER CONDUCTOR MATERIALS
The inner conductor materials of cables play a central role in the transmission of signals. Learn more about the different inner conductors used in our products. Oehlbach uses only high-purity copper for the inner conductors of its cables, which is further refined depending on the application! The cables are optimized by silver-plating the surface of copper conductors. In this way, the well-known skin effect is used to improve the sound characteristics of the high signal frequencies - resulting in an extremely detailed sound image.
Oxygen Free Copper
OFC
All Oehlbach cables are at least made of OFC copper! OFC is the abbreviation for oxygen-free copper. OFC offers lower resistance than ordinary copper and the larger the cable cross-section, the lower the signal attenuation during transmission.
Silver Plated Copper
SPOFC
SPC is an OFC inner conductor which is further refined. This results in a silver-plated copper inner conductor. SPC offers an even lower internal resistance than OFC alone, which further improves the sound quality of these cables.
Hyper Pure Ohno Continuous
Casting
HPOCC®
HPOCC® stands for Hyper Pure Ohno Continuous Casting, a special production process for copper and silver conductors according to Prof. Ohno of Chiba Institute of Technology, Japan. HPOCC® is one of the purest metals and therefore an almost perfect conductor. This high material quality is achieved, among other things, by the patented vacuum process used in its manufacture. HPOCC® technology is a process established and perfected by OEHLBACH for the production of high-quality cable inner conductors. It is used in almost all cables of the OEHLBACH State of the Art series!
THE OEHLBACH EFFECT DER OEHLBACH EFFEKT
Flat and closely positioned strands are produced with the help of a special tool and processed into the Oehlbach Streamline cable.
Advantages:
Larger surface area for brilliant highs
Highest flexibility for easy and invisible installation
Less resistance with OFC and SPC
TWISTED PAIR CABLES
THE LITTLE TWIST IN OEHLBACH CABLE
Twisting the plus and minus wires eliminates any interference and noise signals that may occur. The copper-silver mix optimizes the sonic reproduction of high and low frequencies.
HF & NF INTERFERENCE
Interference describes the superposition of different frequencies!
TRIGGERS FOR INTERFERENCE
Interference can be triggered by the following objects: Mobile phones (DECT) / radio telephones, mains cables, refrigerators, hoovers, microwaves or a hairdryer. Electronic components are usually placed relatively close to each other! This is the main cause of interference. LF cables are used to connect most of the devices in a hi-fi system. However, AF signals are very sensitive to interference - they can cause unpleasant distortion of the audio signal.
SOLUTIONS FOR HF INTERFERENCE
High-density shielding safely and effectively prevents this undesirable phenomenon! The use of high-purity copper or silver braiding, sometimes combined with a metal foil, usually achieves interference-free signal transmission.
SOLUTIONS FOR NF INTERFERENCE
Due to first-class shielding material and compliance with internal quality standards, interference is reduced to a minimum with OEHLBACH cables!
