Status of compatibility with the requirements

This website is not fully compliant with the accessibility regulations that apply to us. In detail:

Incompatibility with accessibility legislation

The content listed below does not comply with the relevant accessibility legislation:

1. missing or insufficient alternative texts for images
Many product and decorative images show placeholders, but often lack meaningful alt attributes. This violates WCAG 2.1 AA standards (e.g. 1.1.1 Non-text content) as well as EU guidelines for accessible content

2. navigation without keyboard support and focus indicators
The page structure with menus and dropdowns seems to rely on JavaScript without using obvious visible focus markers or ARIA labels. This makes it difficult to use the keyboard and contradicts WCAG guidelines such as 2.1 Keyboard accessibility and 2.4 Orientation.

3. cookie banner without clear accessibility
The cookie banner („Configure“, „Accept all“) is small, possibly missing a clear focus highlight order as well as the possibility to operate via keyboard or screen reader, which could also violate 2.4.3 Focus order and 2.1 Keyboard accessibility.

4 Unstructured content and heading hierarchy
Pages contain many content elements such as headings, paragraphs, images, links, often without consistent semantics (e.g.
structure). A deficiency here contradicts the requirements for 3.1 Readability & structure (WCAG 2.1).

5. non-subtitled videos/audios
If media files (e.g. product videos) are available on the website, it is unclear whether they are subtitled or transcribed. WCAG 1.2.2 requires subtitles for pre-recorded audio content

.

Unreasonable burden

The following content is not made available in an accessible format because this would result in an unreasonable burden for us:

Unreasonable burden

In accordance with **Article 5 of Directive (EU) 2016/2102**, we would like to point out that the following content and functions on the website [https://oehlbach.com](https://oehlbach.com) are currently **not accessible** and that their full implementation would constitute an **unreasonable burden** within the meaning of the Directive:

1. comprehensive reposting of the product images with alternative texts

The website contains a very large number of product and marketing images, some of which are integrated automatically. Manual post-processing and semantic description of each individual image would represent an unreasonably high expenditure of resources, particularly with regard to the existing content management system and personnel capacities.
2. complete restructuring of the navigation for full keyboard operability

The existing menu navigation is based on a custom JavaScript framework without comprehensive support for ARIA roles and focus control. A completely barrier-free redevelopment of the navigation system would require far-reaching changes to the website architecture and is currently not economically feasible.

3. subsequent provision of subtitles and audio descriptions for older media content

Some existing product or image videos lack subtitles or audio description. The subsequent editing of this content, particularly in the case of externally produced media, is associated with high financial costs and is therefore seen as an unreasonable burden.

Exemptions from the scope of the accessibility regulations

The following non-accessible content on this website does not fall under the scope of the accessibility regulations:

The following content and functions on the website (https://oehlbach.com) do not fall under the mandatory accessibility requirements in accordance with the applicable legislation and are therefore not currently designed to be accessible:

1. third-party content outside the control of the website operator
Some embedded content comes from external platforms or third-party providers (e.g. YouTube videos, external product reviews, payment services). There is no complete editorial control for this content, which is why it is exempt from the accessibility obligation.
Examples:
* YouTube embeds without subtitles or audio description
* Trustpilot widgets and ratings
* Payment and checkout modules from third-party providers (e.g. Klarna, PayPal)

2. archived content
Certain content such as older product documentation, press releases or promotions that were published before September 23, 2019 and are not actively used or edited are considered archived and do not fall under the obligation for subsequent accessibility in accordance with the Directive.
3. online content that is not primarily intended for public services

As Oehlbach is a private company whose web offerings do not primarily provide public services digitally, certain regulations (e.g. for public bodies) are not applicable to website content, in particular with regard to information obligations in accordance with § 12a paragraph 6 BGG.

For our non-accessible content, we provide the following accessible alternatives:

1. telephone customer service

For people who are unable to use content on the website independently (e.g. product descriptions, ordering functions), telephone customer service is available:

Evaluation method

Evaluation method

The accessibility of the website (https://oehlbach.com) was tested using a combined evaluation method that includes both automated and manual procedures:

1. automated tests

Use of common accessibility testing tools such as WAVE or it-recht.de for automated analysis of HTML structure, color contrasts, ARIA attributes, keyboard operability and semantic markup.
2. manual testing
Random tests with keyboard navigation and screen reader (e.g. NVDA, VoiceOver).

3. orientation towards legal requirements
Consideration of the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, EN 301 549, WCAG 2.1 (Level AA) and the requirements of the German Accessibility Act (BFSG).
